Dr Philip Chien (Dentist)
Dr Philip Chien BDSc(Hons) graduated from the University of Queensland in 2017 with 1st Class Honours and received the Dean’s Commendation for Academic Excellence. He won the DPL Young Dentist Award for Professional Excellence in 2018, and is a published author in the Australian Dental Journal. He is also currently studying a Masters of Philosophy in Dental Research (Endodontics).
Philip is a friendly, enthusiastic dentist who enjoys sharing his love for dentistry with his patients. Having spent most of his life in New Zealand, Philip made the jump over the Tasman Sea to pursue a career in dentistry in Australia. In his training, Philip has been in Brisbane and up north in Hervey Bay with Queensland Health to help both children and adults in urgent need of dental treatment. Philip provides treatment in general dentistry and is passionate about managing dental emergencies, and will do the best that he can to get patients out of pain.
During his spare time, Philip has a deep love for art and music. He is a violinist, with more than fifteen years of experience as an orchestral, string quartet and solo violinist and has recently started repairing old violins as a hobby. He is an Associate of the Royal Schools of Music currently plays for the Queensland Medical Orchestra.
